I'm targeting completion of Level 2 in one 4-5 weeks; taking into account possible inefficiencies in my study time and an intention to learn thoroughly.Level 1 simply covers one octave on the first three strings. It's very elementary. Level 2 introduces the bass strings. So, nineteen months after I started learning guitar, I can sight-read three strings up to the 3rd fret.
Whoopee.
Yes, it feels a little frustrating that my sight reading skills lag my technique. That's what happens when you depend too much on tablature. I just need to keep moving forward. I'll close the gap sooner rather than later if I just focus on practicing rather than on my frustration.
